We are completely thrilled to announce that The Pump House Project has been awarded The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK.
To have won this in only our sixth year of existence is testament to the faith that the people of Faringdon, it's Town Council and our many supporters and benefactors have given the Project from its very beginnings in 2011.
To be nominated a group must demonstrate that they provide a service and meet a need for people living in the local community and that it is supported, recognised and respected by the local community and the people who benefit from it. I therefore thank you and each of the 600 or so individuals that come through our doors each week for your support, your help and your encouragement.
I would also like to thank all our volunteers, Trustees and our Project Co-ordinator Lucy Brown who help to keep the show on the road with endless good humour and commitment to the Project.
'The Place' officially opens in our downstairs space this month and will take over some of the services provided by the former Children's Centre, our new Digi-Hub is now fully installed and ready to go and we can now look out onto the garden truly transformed with the arrival of a new carpet of (artificial) grass!
If you haven't been before, have a look at the activities on our website and come to visit us soon.
